The independent workforce is growing rapidly and may soon exceed traditional full-time work as a career choice for high-talent professionals.
But today, our sector’s diversity is low - there is a clear opportunity for more diverse owners to stand up independent business practices and reap the many known rewards of career independence.
When we make it easier for more Black, Hispanic, AAPI, women, and veteran-owned firms to be launched each day, across the nation and the world, by talented solo and micro business owners, we can and will change the face of professional services delivery forever.
That's why we held a roundtable discussion as part of our Future of Work series on Bringing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to the Future of Work.
During the session, our experts highlighted the growing need for organizations to establish a diverse pool of labor within their companies and discussed how to find, engage, and benefit from having diversity and a set standard of inclusion. They also gave insight into what it means to think strategically about integrating DEI into company culture, and to holistically align these initiatives with a larger corporate strategy for 2021—and beyond.
Key topics covered during this discussion were:
-
What diversity, equity, and inclusion means for organizations as part of an ongoing labor conversation
-
Key stories of successful DEI initiatives inside large organizations
-
What MBO is doing to bring Opportunity for All to 10,000 diverse business owners in 2021
